Youth and Children's Work
Youth and Children's Work
Holy Trinity has an active and vibrant ministry to youth and children from the Church and local community. We believe that children and young people can enjoy a rewarding relationship with Jesus and the rest of their community, and that they can play a full part in the life of the Church.
On Sundays mornings we have age specific teaching groups for children and young people aged from 0 to 14 in addition to all-age worship. Young people aged 14+ are encouraged to take an active role in leading the evening service alongside other members of the Church.
During the week we have a number of regular events including Gems, 1UP!, Luminate and Reflect Youth Homegroups. Gems is a "See & Know" playgroup for pre-school children and parents/carers with singing, toys and refreshments for all. Gems is every Monday morning during term time from 9.30 to 11.15. For more information please contact
Sue Jackson.

1UP! is a children's club open to all children in school years 4, 5 and 6. Each event has a Christian theme and input as well as games, craft, sport, art, computer games, chillout, table games and tuck. 1UP! is run fortnightly on Friday evenings during term time. For more information please contact
Sue Jackson.
Luminate is a Youth Congregation for 11-18's focusing on community and discipleship. Including young people from a number of local congregrations Luminate is open to all young people to join the community and to further their relationship with God. Meeting fortnightly on Saturday evenings between 7 and 9 Luminate includes word, worhsip, community and prayer. For more information please contact

An opportunity to explore the meaning of life
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening, but thought-provoking way. It's low key, friendly, fun and free! And it's supported by all the main Christian denominations. More than two million people worldwide have found it a worthwhile experience, and courses are currently running in 132 countries, in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons. Alpha-type courses have now been running at Holy Trinity for several years.
"What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions - life and death and their meaning."
The Guardian
The Vicar of Holy Trinity, Trevor Patterson, writes...
"What is Alpha to me? It's lots of things - an opportunity to ask important questions about the Christian faith; a chance to meet new people; being able to hear clear teaching on central Christian themes; enjoying an excellent meal and good conversation!; the opportunity to pray and be prayed for by others. All this in a ten week period which is made up of weekly sessions and an all-day Saturday. My experience is that very few come through the course not having benefited, and most believe they have grown to know God more and want to deepen their relationship with Him as a result.
"So", you might ask me, "Is Alpha for me?" Yes, most definitely, if you feel drawn by any of the above observations. Why not join us on the next course and bring a friend!"
If you'd like to enrol in a course or would just like to hear more about the courses held at Holy Trinity,

Living Free
The 'Living Free' course underlines how God has good plans for his people so that they can continue the work of Jesus on earth. It reminds us of the authority we have in Christ to carry on his work despite Satan's intention to distract and destroy. God wants to reveal his plans and what the Devil is doing to stop us fulfilling them; He calls us to repentance, to a new start, giving us power by the Holy Spirit to be the people he wants us to be.
We will be running the course in different forms over the coming year. Look out for details of the next one.
Parenting
We run occasional courses for parents and others who care for children, to share experiences and learn together about how best to encourage, guide and support children as they grow.
