Who Let the dads out?

wltdoWhat is it?

Who Let The Dads Out? is a monthly toddler group for dads or father figures and their children (aged 1-8). Older siblings are welcome just so long as they are careful around the little ones. We aim to provide a safe, fun environment for dads in the community to come together and spend quality time with their kids. Through this, we hope that men will build a strong network of local friends and help bind together our local community.

There’s lots to do at WLTDO:

  • Bouncy castles, toys and craft for the kids
  • Train table
  • Play kitchen and dedicated area for little ones
  • Toy cars and scooters
  • Bacon sandwiches, unlimited coffee and kids refreshments
  • Give mum some time off and meet other dads
  • Only £3 for the whole family.

Bacon sandwiches, fresh coffee, bouncy castles and games for the kiddies, what’s stopping you? The alternative is probably pushing a trolley around the supermarket...!

Further information

WLTDO is run by a team of volunteers, all of whom are part of the Holy Trinity Richmond Church congregation. It is part of a wider Men’s Ministry initiative, which provides lots more opportunities for men to connect with other parts of church life, such as an annual weekend away, social events, the Alpha Course and various Life Groups. Speak to us or send an email if you want to find out more.

Most of all, our aim is to be a church that creates space for dads, father figures and their children to have fun together, and is founded on the Christian principle of wanting to demonstrate God's love to communities.

When?

The 2nd Saturday of the month, excluding August, 0930 to 1130.

Please email James Thornton to add yourself to the mailing list to receive event reminders each month. You can also email James anytime if you have any questions or just want to check event dates and times.

  • “Your children are yours, the toys are ours” - We must point out that, whilst at WLTDO, you are fully responsible for the care and well-being of your child. WLTDO is not a crèche or drop-off service, rather a safe place for dads or father figures to spend quality time with their children. Our team of volunteers is there to help set-up equipment and to provide fun activities for the children and their role is not to look after children
  • We are DBS checked - All volunteers are DBS checked and we conform to the church’s safeguarding policy
  • We have a very large bouncy slide (which is great fun for kids and parents alike!) - To avoid any accidents and to ensure a safe environment for all, please remember to keep an eye on your kids when they go on the bouncy slide. We also recommend trousers or tights for kids, socks and long sleeve t-shirts as the slide can occasionally cause friction burns if sliding on the seams, so best to keep covered up.
