Volunteering in the local community

Many charities and other groups are active in our local area, providing a variety of support and advice to people who are vulnerable or in need. They offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities through which you can serve those in our local community. Here are details of some of the established neighbourhood organisations you can contact:

• Age UK Richmond - offers a wide range of services for older people to promote wellbeing
• FiSH Neighbourhood Care - combats loneliness and social isolation in older and vulnerable people living in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen
• Kew Neighbourhood Association - connects local volunteers with people who need practical help
• Richmond Good Neighbours - also provide services to the elderly, the disabled and the housebound
• Richmond's Council for Voluntary Service - supports all charity, community and voluntary activity in the Borough.

In North Kingston, BRaG is a local community group for Burton, Adelaide and Gibbon Roads, which has a number of initiatives and support groups for people living in its area.
